Description
Summary:The project “treatment of wastewater effluents by natural coagulant made of pseudo stem tannin” is based on the use of tannin extracted from the sap of stem to clarify and settle unwanted colloidal particles, present in effluents, so that it contributes to the environmental health. A key advantage of using natural coagulant lies on the possibility to substitute various chemicals that are currently being used which could affect the environment. In this case, we have used the psedo-stems (Musa paradisiaca) as raw material to extract the sap inside it, to take advantage of its high concentration. In the banana industry, pseudostems are considered as waste once the fruit is harvested. This fact is the fundamental aspect of the project. We have found an opportunity to use an organic waste as raw material for the development of an ecofriendly product. That is why; without undoubtedly this project is the answer to stop the heavy pollution of lakes and secondary rivers due to industrial processes, which foster a healthier environment and a better quality of life for residents of the surrounding areas.
