description The present work shows the conceptual design of the first mission of the TEPEU Space Program, which will be based on the development of a small low-orbit satellite with a double objective. First, to demonstrate the Latin American institutional capacities for the integration of interdisciplinary academic groups with related projects through the planning, development and construction of a 1-unit Cubesat satellite that will orbit the Earth, as well as the integration of an infrastructure-based network of earth stations amateur radio for data reception and satellite telemetry in orbit. Second, from the scientific point of view, with the measurements obtained with the instrumentation on board, mathematical and computational models will be developed that describe natural phenomena that occur in the earth and its atmosphere, related to the estimation of geophysical phenomena and their correlation with the atmospheric layers behavior. In the technical section, we work on establishing characteristics of the instrumentation and equipment to be implemented, both in the space segment and ground segment. In the space segment, we work on the definition of the payload module, which will contain commercial and experimental sensors, such as a commercial magnetometer and a Langmuir probe type patch, developed in collaboration with the Space and Planetary Exploration Laboratory (SPEL) from the University of Chile. Meanwhile, in the case of the land segment, the integration of a network of earth stations is planned, in collaboration with the “Federación Mexicana of Radio Experimentadores” (FMRE), federations and amateur radio clubs in Latin America and other countries.
