Yhteenveto:The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in people's daily lives to carry out operations or transactions through computer systems or the virtual world; brings with it the benefits, challenges and risks associated with using this ecosystem; therefore, it is necessary to have valid and updated data on indicators and trends, as well as having a consolidated mechanism for searching for information and proactively analyzing the behavior of ICTs. Governments must observe the development of ICTs to generate public policies to improve their competitiveness for the benefit of their citizens, electronic businesses must monitor their environment to analyze competition, overcome obstacles and innovate. The maturity of the use of ICT in the countries depends on the level of competitiveness and economic growth. Applying effective digital transformation requires governments to promote the development of ICTs. In the region of Latin American countries, particularly in Honduras, there are limitations on the availability of information on the use, benefits, public policies and routes of evolution of ICTs in the transformation and impact that they have had on people's lives and on the institutions; In this sense, the collection, processing and publication of statistical data that support the establishment of goals and indicators to observe their behavior and thus be able to make better decisions for the benefit of society becomes important. Implementing an ICT Observatory in Honduras will help improve the government's willingness to implement digital government initiatives.
