Description
Summary:Water is among the most vital natural resources for life. Water resources management includes efficient, equitable and sustainable use, due to the fact that water is becoming increasingly scarce, yet demand for this resource is constantly increasing. One of the main problems that is affecting water resources is climate change. Climate change is a phenomenon that is imminent, and its effects are increasingly generating significant impacts that directly affect water resources. In the case of the Municipality of Santa Fe, the Santa Maria River basin has an abundance of water resources, but also an increasing demand and threats from many industrial activities, such as mining and hydroelectric projects. This work addresses water resource management from the perspective of the main actors at the local level, with the purpose of knowing the capacity of the community for adaptation to climate change.
