The objective was to characterize the organic production of the region in order to estimate its potentials and limitations. It was registered in the random selection of nine agricultural farms for the characterization of fifteen agricultural crops (Lactuca sativa, Allium schoenoprasum, Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum tuberosum, Phaseolus vulgaris, Zea mays, Brassica oleracea var. Capitata, Pisum sativum, Ocimum basilicum, Petroselinum Crispum, Beta vulgaris, Daucus carota, Psidium guajava and Rubus ulmifolius). It is concluded that farmers should be ineetivated to agriculture production and should be improved the logistics market of organic products to ensure food security in the country. |

Se investigó el estado actual de la producción orgánica en Tierras Altas, provincia de Chiriquí para reconocer la sostenibilidad de la agricultura en la región. El estudio se llevó acabo en el año 2016. El objetivo fue caracterizar la producción orgánica de la región con la finalidad de estimar sus potenciales y limitaciones. Se registró en la selección aleatoria de nueve fincas agrícolas para la caracterización de 15 rubros agrícola producidos (Lactuca sativa, Allium schoenoprasum, Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum tuberosum, Phaseolus vulgaris, Zea mays, Brassica oleracea var. Capitata, Pisum sativum, Ocimum basilicum, Petroselinum crispum, Beta vulgaris, Daucus carota, Psidium guajava y Rubus ulmifolius).
