La gestión del conocimiento se descompone en generación del conocimiento, diseminación, interpretación compartida y capacidad de respuesta del conocimiento. Se analiza entonces el efecto que ejercen dichas variables asociadas a la gestión del conocimiento en la calidad de las operaciones del sector bajo estudio. Los resultados revelan una fuerte dependencia entre las variables generación del conocimiento, diseminación del conocimiento, capacidad de respuesta del conocimiento y calidad de las operaciones.
